Condolences to the McKiever family.
I grew up on Hastings Ave several houses away from Fran's house. I remember him as a helpful and smart person. I looked up to him because he was two grades ahead of me. He provided valuable tips for surviving my freshman year at Seton High School in Endicott. A memory (not so amusing at the time): once Fran, his brother Kevin, and myself were walking in a field near our homes when we stumbled onto a bees' nest. We all ran like sprinters to our homes swatting away bees.

I worked with Fran at IBM. He was very well liked and he was an excellent engineer. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. May he Rest In Peace.
