Francis Murray Ray Sr.
Mr. Ray, 73, of Pineville died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday February 3, 2004 at 11:00a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday February 2, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 4431 Old Monroe Rd Indian Trail, NC 28079.
Mr. Ray was born September 18, 1930 in Pineville to the late Tracy Dewitt and Effie Lucille McCormick. Mr. Ray loved to fish, he was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and he loved to watch and feed the birds. He also had a special place in heart for his grandchildren. Preceding him in death besides his parents was his beloved wife Sue Carol Bumgarner. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
His survivors include his sons, Frank Jr. and Brad Ray, both of Matthews; his daughter, Susan Lamm of Indian Trail; his sisters Helen Willis of Matthews and Agnes Cooper of Greensboro and 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The Family asked that memorials may be sent to the Kidney Foundation of NC, 5950 Fairview Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210.
Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service, Indian Trail Chapel.
