Frank Wright Obituary

Frank D. Wright
Mr. Wright, age 85 of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord January 7, 2011 after complications from surgery. Frank was born in Bryson City, NC February 6, 1925 son of Thomas and Martha Wright. He was a World War II Veteran with l389th Army Air Force. He retired from the US Postal Service. Frank was a loving inspiration to his family and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Flowers Wright, sisters, Nina Manchester of Hertford, NC and Etta Cooper of Southern Pines, NC, son-in-law, Mark Mintich and wife Beth, granddaughter, Claire Mintich and grandsons, William and Jack Mintich of Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Wright Mintich, brothers, Theodore Wright, Wade Wright, Roy Wright, sisters, Ollie Ledford, Lula Nantz, Onnie Knight, Amanda Wright and Gertrude Hornsby. Frank was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class and was an avid golfer and played as often as possible with his many friends and family. He was a dedicated, kind and gentle soul. He will be remembered for his wit, humor and inventive, unique comical words. These funny words Frank invented will be remembered with a smile by all who knew him. A service to celebrate his life will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Durham Memorial Baptist Church, Reverend Rick Schubert officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Military Rites. Memorials may be made to Durham Memorial Baptist Church, 160l Toddville Rd., Charlotte, NC, 282l4 or to Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, l420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC, 28204. Frank was a great neighbor,he had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with his wonderful smile and a friendly word when he stopped while on one of his daily walks or working in the yard with Jean.Heaven has opened it's arms for another of its beloved saints.....Rose Spinks
