Geoffrey Gilbert Obituary
November 7, 1983 - July 22, 2022
Charlotte, North Carolina - Geoffrey Michael Gilbert passed away Friday July 22, 2022 in Charlotte, NC. He was born in Charlotte. He graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and attended NC State University where he graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering. He started his career with TRC Environmental Corporation and continued with NC Utilities Commission in Raleigh. Geoffrey loved the outdoors, playing guitar, and spending time with his beloved dog Chauncey.
He is survived by his parents Gary and Beth Gilbert, sister Kendall Gilbert Cox and husband Michael Cox, uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was loved deeply by many and will always be in our hearts.
A private celebration of life will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations in memory of Geoffrey be made to americanhumane.org.

My heart breaks for you. I so dearly recall the funny, mischievous little boy who lived next door those many years ago! He was about five when he learned that I kept a big box of baseball cards that I used to reward my own young sons, and Geoff would show up at my door once or twice a week to "trade" with me. His cards always got posted on the refrigerator because they were special. Once or twice he would make me laugh when I observed a little naughtiness (nothing harmful or dangerous, just typical little boy stuff) and he would give me a sly look and say, "But you're not gonna tell on me, right, Mrs. West?" I never told on you, Geoff, and the world is much the poorer now that you have left it.
