Mike, Marsha and Pat,
So sorry to hear about your dad. I remember when he was my Sunday school teacher at Purcell Methodist; I must have been 3 or 4. And, of course, the Bridge Club. Daddy took lots of pictures and you can view them here: http://www.anneric.info/jcralbum/index.htm (just search for Bridge or Payne). There aren't many people I can say I've know for as long as I can remember, but George and your family number among them. My condolences to you all.

Marcia, Pat and Mike,

I always smile when I think of George Payne! All the lake memories are flooding back now. His famous (for me) words, "It takes three to ski!" Will ring in my ears for ever...and it's words I use with my kids. He added richness to my life and that made him special to me. He was always approachable and I knew he was good for a laugh. There weren't many adults in my young life I could say that about. My prayers are for all of you in your loss.

Marsha ,Mike and Pat, I was so sorry to hear about George passing. Me and so many, many people admired and loved your dad. I met George in 1980 when I went to work for MEI. I learned a lot from him not just about engineering and design but caring for others. George was a man that worked hard and played hard. He was a Christian man, a family man and a honest man of his word. If you needed help or advise you couldn't have had a better man than George Payne. Often he would relate a verse from the Bible that pertained to an everyday occurrence. I always enjoyed your dad and your mom Zane at office parties and the lake house. George always wanted to beat up on architects that didn't give credit to engineers. George has left you but he left you with his love and wonderful memories.
God Bless, Reg Pinkerton
