As a young nursing student at presbyterian hospital school of nursing 1973-1976, dr. justis took care of me as well as the other nursing students for FREE........unheard of in today's medical profession. in fact, the word professional discount is not in the vocabulary anymore. when i returned from "Desert Storm" i had the bladder of a "70" year old, according to dr. justis.....guess i had learned to hold it all in instead of using the "honeybucket" provided us on the C-130. (never ONCE did dr. justis ever charge me for treatment) it was an honor and my pleasure to serve with dr. justis in the north carolina air national guard as a flight nurse. my hear broke when i read his obituary in the paper. when i returned from desert storm and dr. justis was checking me........(in the old drs. building) we heard noises out on the street........there i was in the stirrups and all...he was describing the fight on the street ...next thing you know, i jumped down.....and we are both looking out discussing what we think was going on.....then, i started laughing.....i could never have done that with any other physician...i now teach nursing and tell my students how wonderful nursing and medicine used to be....i often think of dr. justis....my deepest sympathy to you and your family and to the medical community. there never has nor will there ever be a more caring physician than Homer R. Justis....sincerely, donna ferraro

Rody was my beloved uncle. My maiden name was Carolyn Justis. I remember the many summers I spent with his family in Charlotte. He was such a devoted doctor and family man. I also remember his gardening. He always had the best vegetables. I send my condolences to his wife, children and grandchildren.

Although I am sad for the circumstances, I am glad that Connie sent me this site so that I can tell all of you how much your entire family meant to me. I look back and some of my happiest memories are of your dad, mom, Peter, Pricilla, Abby, and those dogs of yours. I am so sorry for your loss. Your father was an excellent doctor and a good man. God Bless
