Balderston Boyd Lymberis
Mrs. Lymberis, 81, of Charlotte, NC, died Jan. 27, 2004 at Southminster Retirement Community.
Mrs. Lymberis was born in Bearsden, Scotland, on October 22, 1922. She served in World War II in the Women's Royal Naval Service and was attached to the American Base at Roseneath, Scotland, where she met her husband Marvin. She was active at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, The Mecklenburg Medical Society Auxiliary, The St. Andrew's Society, and Scottish Heritage U.S.A.
She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin N. Lymberis, M.D.; sister, Betty MacDonald; and her parents, Elizabeth Reid Sinclair Boyd and Robert Edward Boyd. She is survived by her brother, James Edward Boyd and his wife Judy of Rhu, Scotland; brother-in-law, Gavin MacDonald of Bearsden, Scotland; sister-in-law, Lorena Lymberis; daughter, Sandra Lymberis Wilson and her husband Jeff of Lynchburg, VA; son, Marvin Edward 'Ted' Boyd Lymberis and his wife Pamela of Kingsport, TN.; and son, Robin Sinclair Lymberis of Charlotte, NC. In addition, she leaves six grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilson Betz and husband Brian, Melissa Wilson Watts and husband Jay, Mary Elizabeth Lymberis, James Edward Lymberis, Christopher Boyd Lymberis, and Robert Sinclair Lymberis, and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lymberis and the family are especially indebted to Annie Blackmon who knowsand loves us all better than anyone. The family is also very appreciative of the care and friendship given by Diane Ische, Vicki Lewis, June Woodward and many others who looked after her and loved her for so long. Special thanks go to all her friends who have made her life a blessing.
There will be a memorial service in the Chapel of Myers Park Presbyterian Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31 with the Rev. Tom Herrington officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Pl., Charlotte, NC 28207 or to the First Presbyterian Church Television Ministry, 200 West Trade St, Charlotte, NC 28202.
