Gordon was in the hospital when his photographic exhibit opened at Wake Forest. Of course, I meant to drive myself there, but Jere and Ellen offered to take me. They picked me up at the hospital and brought me back to share details with Gordon. That's the kind of friends they were. Now I'm the one in the hospital, hoping to return to my apartment at Sharon Towers. I didn't know about Jere's death until a church friend told me.
Gordon and I loved Jere and Ellen.

I had the privilege of serving with Jere on the Board of Hospice where he succeeded me as President. He was a true gentleman and servant leader. May he rest in peace.

We have fond memories of being seated on the back row of the RJB Sunday School class with Jere and Ellen - a lovely couple whose friendship we cherish. Jere was a faithful Christian and gentle friend. We extend our deep sympathy to Ellen in her time of grief. May her faith and good memories sustain her.
Peace....Anne & Fletcher Wright

In our book, under "Wonderful Friend" there is a picture of "Spoon". We had so many good times, meals, rides and golf games together. He was an example of living a full life with Christian values. We will always miss him, but we are so thankful for the advise & times we shared.
God's peace, Rachel & Ben
