Jocelyn Desmond Obituary
Jocelyn Albright Desmond, of Davidson, passed peacefully Thursday afternoon, March 15, 2012, in the loving company of her parents.
Jocelyn is survived by her parents Jaletta Albright Desmond and Alan Desmond and beloved sister Julia Albright Desmond, grandmother Lola Lorraine Albright and grandparents Louis and Margaret Desmond. Jocelyn's aunts and uncles Lysha Albright, Kwesi Ngissah, Richard Gregg and Anne Albright, Richard Desmond, Dennis and Cindy Desmond as well as her cousins Kristen, Mike and Lola Borland, Megan and Scott Plamondon and Erin and Derek Desmond will miss Jocelyn's warm spirit.
Jocelyn was born January 27, 1995 in Bluefield, WV. She was a junior at W.A. Hough High School in Cornelius. She loved track and had a beautiful singing voice. Jocelyn was an active participant and volunteer at Journey Church in Huntersville. She was a member of the KidStreet ministry as well as a childcare volunteer with the Journey Church Life Group Ministry. She was active in Journey Church Student Ministry.
Services to celebrate Jocelyn's life will be on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Journey Church, 15711 Brookway Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078 at 1:00 pm.
Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to be sent to Pacer's National Bullying Prevention Center at www.pacer.org (952-838-9000) or The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.afsp.org (1-888-333-2377.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Julia was in my 5th grade class and I just wanted to say that I saw a video of Jocelyn singing the song "Fifteen" on youtube and she was wonderful! I cannot imagine the pain and grief you guys are going through. My heart was truely broken when I found out that someone I knew was going through this pain. May Jesus guide you through this hard time and may Jocelyn rest peacefully in Heaven, entertaining all the other angels with her beautiful spirit and talent. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

There no more words to be spoken that haven't beensaid before, I can't express how hard this has to be for you. Its killing me still. She was a beautiful person who had everything going for her. My heart was broken when I heard of Jocelyn's death. I will forever cherish my memories of her as well as Julia. Thank you for letting me be a part of her life and of Julia's. I pray that our God will comfort you all and give you strength in your times of need both now and in days to come. My prayer is that God will use this loss for good in the fight against bullying.

I didn't know Jocelyn but just heard of your loss from a mother who's daughter was bullied at school a year ago. Thank you so much for your courage and truth to list Pacer's and AFSP to bring awareness to this problem. Through awareness can come healing. I went to Middle school with her. We had our differences but her loss weighs heavily on the entire DIB family. We love and miss her greatly, and I speak for all of us in saying if you need anything at all you need only to ask one of us.
