Jody Harpootlian Morgan CHARLOTTE - Jody Harpootlian Morgan died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, April 27 2015, surrounded by family. She was born on June 15, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Edna Highly Williams and William Daniel Williams. The youngest of two daughters, she was predeceased by her beloved sister Betty Lou "Nini" Stratton. Jody attended Ohio State University, and also had an exciting career modeling in New York City as a young woman. She was married for 42 years to Harold C. Harpootlian, a distinguished WWII B17 pilot who predeceased her in 1989. She later married JD Morgan, who passed away in 2003. Jody is survived by her sweetheart and devoted companion, Frank Gardner. Jody is survived by her three children, Bill Harpootlian and wife Penny, Dick Harpootlian and wife Jamie, and Joan Harpootlian Thomas and husband Philip. Surviving grandchildren are Jon Harpootlian, Beth Harpootlian, Allie Thomas, Kate Harpootlian and her Mother Pam. Jody also is survived by her niece Susie Stratton Auman and nephew Bill Stratton. Jody had a lengthy real estate career, which began in 1966. She worked for several Charlotte real estate companies including The Gallery of Homes, Mary Ryder Realty, and she also was the regional training director for Realty World. She became part owner of First Charlotte Properties in 1983. She was an active member of the Charlotte Board of Realtors and The NC Association of Realtors, serving on many committees. Jody served as President of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association in 1991. She was known for her quick wit, spirited character and her absolute devotion to her family. Jody was an avid bridge player, enjoyed the North Carolina mountains and other travel including cruises. She had a particular fondness for Las Vegas. A memorial service to celebrate Jody's life will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 11 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Hankins & Whittington.
