Joel Shaul Obituary
MONROE -- Joel Wilbur Shaul, 55, died at his home March 8, 2012 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kittanning, PA on January 15, 1957, son of the late Paul Warren and Ruby Timmerburg Shaul. He was also preceded in death by a brother Kevin Andrew Shaul. He was a wonderful husband, father and 'PaPa Joe'.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 1:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with guests Friday, March 16, 2012, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan Rau Shaul; a son, Joel W. Shaul, Jr. and wife Kandi Overcash Shaul of Concord, NC; a daughter, Sabrina Shaul Hutto and husband Ash of Monroe; three brothers and three sisters; four grandchildren, Dakota and Emma Shaul and Haileigh and Natalie Hutto and thirty nieces and nephews.
The family extends their sincere thanks to Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region for their tender care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem's Fund, c/o The Asheville Art Museum, PO Box 1717, Asheville, NC 28802.

Sue,Sabrina and Joel Jr. my heart breaks for you all. I know Joe grew to be a wonderful man. The memory that will always stay with me is a nine year old little boy building a sail boat in our grandparent's bacement. I pray that the Lord will comfort you as only He can.
