Interesting how people come into your life, guide you and change your life forever. MSgt Bost did that for me back in 1988-89 when we were with 2nd Radio Bn. He was an awesome leader, hard as nails but I'd follow him anywhere. You are missed, thank you for the life lessons. [email protected]

To the Bost family, with my deepest sympathy. I am so proud, and honored to have served with, and under Msgt Bost, as a Cpl. He was an awsome Marine, and such a loyal individual. He was my boss from 1990-1992 at 2nd Tank Bn, Camp Lejeune Nc. We went on alot of fishing trips together in the Cape Fear River, Nc. I also served under him in Iraq during Desert Storm. A few years later, he directly influenced me to be a Drill Instructor, in which I was honestly, too intimidated, by the harsh training, but some how, he made me go. He was my Drill Instructor, Instructor. The last time I spoke with him around June 27, 2005 was at his job on the Air Staion in Beaufort, just prior to me being deployed to Iraq again. I had to get some gear issued to me, for the deploymennt. In which, he would not allow his imployees to issue it to me, he wanted to issue it to me himself. (WHICH MADE ME GLOW WITH PRIDE)he told me "to hurry up and get my butt on back from over there, so that we could go fishing." I returned in late Feb 2006. I stop by his job, to tell him that I was back, I then, learned of him passing. (GOD BLESS) I apologise for such a long entry, just wanted to share this with the Boss Family. Msgt John Bost's leadership, is why I am, what I am today. It is truly an honor to know him. MY BOSS,,,,MY FRIEND,,,,MY LEADER,,,,SEMPER FI!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Bost and Valerie,
I want to say I am so sorry that John is not with us. I am still shocked and so sad. John was a lover of life and a fighter. We are going to miss him terribly. I am glad he is not sick any longer and is with his brother in Heaven. I just wish he could be with us a little longer. I know God will comfort us with wonderful memories as we are going to miss him until we are together. I am so glad he and I got to talk in December and he sounded so good. I will always remember him and will pray that all our thoughts now are about him in heaven. Love, Beth

Dear Val and Mr. & Mrs. Bost,
James and I were very saddened to hear that Johnny has passed. Please know that God needed him in heaven and Johnny is now made whole with NO sickness. This knowledge is the only thing that has helped me with my Dad's passing. Even when we do not understand, God is faithful and so merciful.
Know that you and your family are in our prayers and will be for the many long days ahead.
Much love,
Angie & James Ivey
