John Kenneth "Ken" Dowd, Jr.

September 3, 1940 - June 10, 2025

Charlotte, North Carolina - John Kenneth "Ken" Dowd Jr., 84, of Charlotte, died peacefully on June 10, 2025. A Moore County native and Pfeiffer College graduate, he was a longtime homebuilder and founder of The Dowd Company, helping shape Charlotte neighborhoods for more than 50 years. He also co-founded Harrington Dowd Realty and Group III Design.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Carole, and his daughters, Margaret (Meg) Dowd and Mary Carole Dowd.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.

I am sorry to hear about Ken I remember bringing dad over to see y´all on the back from the kidney doctor. Dad always thought a lot of Ken and his family may god bless yall.
