John Earnhardt Obituary
John Donald Earnhardt
Mr. Earnhardt, age 81, of Huntersville, died April 23, 2004 at University Hospital. He was born June 30, 1922 in Cabarrus County, son of the late John Franklin Earnhardt and Katie Lee Alexander Earnhardt. Donnie was the founder of Earnhardt Grading Co., Inc., a member of the Huntersville United Methodist Church, Lions Club and the Stumptown Tractor Club.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at the Huntersville United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Rintz officiating. Burial will follow at the Huntersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Polly Davis Earnhardt, son, Kenny Earnhardt, daughter, Donna E. Ferrell and husband Wayne, brother, Wilson Earnhardt and wife Hazel, sister, Barbara E. McGraw and husband Pete, all of Huntersville; grandchildren, Fran and husband Matt, John, Natalie, Josh, and Jacob; and great grandson, Sam.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jay Lee, Basil and Dennis Earnhardt and his sister, Pauline E. Irvin.
Memorials may be made to the Joe Herron Memorial Fund, c/o Bank of America, 20005 West Catawba Avenue, Cornelius, NC 28031, or Huntersville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 378, Huntersville, NC 28070.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff Asque, Jim McConnell, Jeff Holt, Wayne Auten, Robert Brown, Ben Reagan, Mike Earnhardt, Johnny McGraw and Gerald McGraw.
