My family and I loved and admired Dr. Neal. He was a very intelligent man that loved sharing his knowledge with others every chance he got. His big heart was given to all who knew him. His love and compassion for people made him the great doctor and friend that he was. To the family we offer our sincere condolences. To my dear cousin, Iris, I love you and I am here for you in this time of deep sorrow and heartache.

Dr. Neal was so much more than a physician....he was a hero to many of us. As my sister has always said, he did not go into medicine to become rich. He became a doctor because he wanted to help people...AND help people he did. My family and I are blessed to have had the opportunity and honor of knowing him, loving him, and learning from him. I willmiss all your stories from your days at "State College". Thank you, Doc!!!! We will truly miss you! We will miss visiting you and Peewee! This world will not be the same without you! We Love You!

Like many others, I knew of Dr. Neal only by reputation, but I did know his daughter, Frazier. She is good, kind and loving individual and I know that was learned at her parents knees. I believe, having heard all the good Dr. Neal did, he was met in heaven with 'well done, good and faithful servant'.

I knew Dr Neal almost my entire life. His generosity, gentle spirit and kind nature impressed me as a child and continues to impress me to this day. My brothers and I played with his children, and these friendships continue to this day. I deeply admired him as a child and as an adult. He has a place in my memories and in my child heart as a man who had integrity and seemed to truly care about others. As a physician, he was a rare breed. As a father and a family man, he and "Miz Nancy" raised an impressive family. My condolences and love goes to each member of the family. Thank you, Dr Neal, for setting an example of how to be as a gracious human, and for the gifts you gave each of us in Gibson. A bit of color has left the town with your passing.

So sorry to hear about Dr. Neal. My mother loved him and he gave me some very good advice when Richard and I lost our first child. He told me to go ahead and have another one and not to wait as the stats were with us that the condition would not happen again. Will never forget that he took the time out of his busy schedule to tell me this.

Dr Neal was born in 1926, seven years before I was born. I attended Gibson schools from the 5th. - 12th. grades graduating in 1950. Dr. E.A. Livingston delivered me & he and Dr. Jim Pate were my physicians in Gibson. Dr. Neal came the sane year I graduated from college in 1954 & I never lived again in Scotland County, but kept in touch with my famiky in Scotland & Richmond Counties. Dr. Neal became the physician to my grandmother, Alma Gibson Quick as well as to other family members. Persons who spoke to me about Dr. NEAL had nothing but high praise for him as a diagnostician and caregiver.
Scotland & adjacent counties were fortunate to find in him a caring physician. In 2010-11, I was fortunate to be asked to re-open the Gibson United Methodist Church which had unfortunately closed the year before. I recall the many persons who spoke glowingly of the contining medical attention Dr. Neal gave his patients, even at his advanced age. What a tribute indeed!
He has been laid to rest at Pinecrest Cementary in Gibson, among many of folk who preceded him to their eternal reward. GOD BLESS HIS MEMORY. Thank you for service to all who were your patients. To You & TO THE GREAT PHYSICIAN, I give thanks!

Your Dad was such a wonderful person. His friendship with our parents and then as I grew up his friendship with me as an adult was priceless. An amazing clinician -- compassionate, caring, funny and brilliant. There will never be another like Dr. Neal! Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I'm sure he and my dad, Dr. Gibson, are sitting together somewhere in heaven fishing and catching up.

Your father was a very great man and as a doctor he was very caring and always had the rare ability to show his patients what a generous man he was with his time. Your Dad was the best doctor I have ever had and I have never found another doctor who had as much compassion or could make his patient's feel as comfortable as he did. He will be greatly missed and I will keep his family in my prayers.
