Kemp Duncan Jr.

Kemp Woodrow Duncan, Jr. MATTHEWS - Kemp Woodrow Duncan, Jr., died August 26, 2015, after battling Parkinson's disease for an extended number of years. Kemp, known to many as KW, was born in Troutdale, Virginia on September 24, 1936 to Kemp Woodrow Duncan of Sparta and Virginia Cornett Hanna of Troutdale, VA. Kemp served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Campaign. He was a graduate of Guilford College and went on to a long and successful career as a regional sales manager for Transamerica Insurance Finance Company. He was well known and respected in the Eastern United states and Puerto Rico for his expertise in the insurance premium finance industry. He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine McGlamery Duncan of Matthews, NC; his daughter, Donna Lynn Duncan of Charlotte, NC, and her mother, Susie Wadell Duncan of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Jerry Gale Duncan and wife Karen of Vestavia Hills, AL; one sister, Renda Duncan Sinatro and husband, Tim of Daytona Beach, FL. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Angela Bagley and her husband, Robert of Monroe, NC and their two children Austin and Courtney. The family is honoring Mr. Duncan wishes for no funeral service. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, Virginia is in charge of these arrangements.
