Kenneth Chartier Obituary

Kenneth Leverne Chartier
BELLEAIR BLUFFS, FL -- Mr. Chartier, 82, died Monday, December 20, 2004. His life's work had been in cost accounting for Ferguson Construction Co. and Morrison and Knudsen, associated with Procter and Gamble, while he and his family traveled to projects located in Missouri, California, Texas, England, Belgium, and Wales. Later he was an accountant in the fiber industry with Celanese Corp, then from 1983 to 1998 a comptroller with Webtec Inc., in Gastonia, NC, retiring later to Florida. He contributed many hours as an active Kiwanis member, having served as Sec/Treas from 1984 to 1999 in Gastonia, NC, and becoming a Fellow #760 in the International Foundation on November 28, 1988.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved nature, and was endeared by his five sons and wife as a very special loving and caring father and husband. He was a member of Anona United Methodist Church and Golden Senior Bible Class in Largo, FL.
Immediate survivors include his wife, Maxine Chartier, Belleair Bluffs, FL; four sons, Robert Chartier, Columbia, SC, Phil Chartier, Simpsonville, SC, Bill Chartier, Greenville, SC, Jon Chartier, Apopka, FL; stepson, Harry Wiggins, Beaufort, SAC; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren in South Carolina and California.
Interment later in South Carolina where he has family and many personal and business friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his memory to Anona United Methodist Church, to the local Hospice, or to the American Cancer Society.
