Kenneth Wayne Gandy

November 17, 1942 - February 16, 2024

Concord, North Carolina - Mr. Kenneth Wayne Gandy age 81 of Concord, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, February 19th at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 4 pm Tuesday, February 20th at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Cruse and Pastor Rob Crawford officiating.

Kenneth Wayne was born November 17, 1942 in Cabarrus County and was the son of the late J.W. Gandy and Belle Hinson Gandy. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1960 and then served our country in the US Navy on the USS POMODON. He started working for Western Electric/ATT&T Technology. He retired from ATT&T as a supervisor. He also worked for Universal Voice/ Data systems and was assigned to Duke Power in downtown Charlotte. Kenneth Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 59 years, Martha "Marty" Christensen Gandy; daughter, Debby Gandy Cox and husband, Richard of Graham, NC; sons, David Gandy and wife, Marie, and Donnie Gandy, all of Concord; grandchildren,, Kyle Gandy (Haley) of Concord, Mikayla Aistrop (Chris) of Hampton, VA, Luke Gandy of Concord, Sara McAllister (Drew) of Conway, SC, William Cox (fiance, Lila Dunn) of Boston, MA, Ryan Cox of Graham, NC, A J LaVance of Concord, Cameron LaVance of Camp Lejeune, NC. Brandon Wiley (Lauren) of Lexington, NC and Sarah Cannady of Kannapolis, NC; great-grandchildren, Tanner Cannady, Arianna Johnson, Addison Jade Aistrop, Asher Gandy, and Makalya Kite; sister, Brenda Alexander and husband, Wayne of Kannapolis; brothers, Robert Gandy and wife Sandi of Alabama, and Ronald Gandy and wife Teresa of Concord, many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.

ken and I worked with Western electric back in the old days, we shared the job of installing central office equipment for at&t at 208 north caldwell st. we had a very good relationship, and i will miss talking to him the future. i wish his family well withthe loss of husband, father, grandfather. my god bless and keep you all safe. bill

I had the privilege of meeting Ken at the Rimer town cattle sale. We had lunch together at the barn many times over the years always having something to talk about. I will miss our conversations for now but we will meet again in Glory.

Marty and Family,
Our DEEPEST SYMPATHY our LOVE our FRIENDSHIP and our PRAYERS is extended to each one of you during this time of the loss of your Dear Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Ken was a Wonderful person with all the traits of being a hard worker, Loving, funny, crazy and witty guy. He will be dearly missed. Kenny will surely miss picking on him. Marty, I can truly say I know how you are feeling because I went through the same thing almost four years ago. I am here for you any time day or night. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Just remember all the great times you spent together and he will always be in your heart.
