Kenneth Miley Obituary
'Sam'
RUTHERFORDTON -- Mr. Miley, of 190 Kings Grant Dr., passed away Friday in Rutherfordton, N.C. Ken was born Nov 12, 1935 in Lexington, Va. To Walter Samuel Miley and Elizabeth Coleman Clemmer and was raised by his mother and loving step father Phillip Rufner Clemmer.
From his early childhood roots in Rockbridge County, Va. Ken developed a love of all things outdoors, including what would become his lifelong passion for gardening. His greatest gift was sharing these lessons and their underpinning values with others particularly his children and grandchildren.
He was proud of his success in a 30 year career with Reeve's Brothers but his most cherished accomplishment was the network of friendships and storytelling developed during those years that survive to this day.
Ken was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Michael Miley and his adored wife Katie Moore Miley and in December of 2007 his mother Elizabeth Clemmer.
Left to cherish his memory; daughter Jann Jerkins of Vero Beach, Fl., granddaughter Miley DeBrule of Stuart, Fl. and grandson William Stephan DeBrule of Boise, Id.
The family will receive friends at 4 PM Tuesday September 9, 2008 at Crowe's Mortuary in Rutherfordton. Further arrangements will be held in Lexington, Va. and will be announced later.

Jan, I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. My memories go back many years ago when I was employed with Reeves Brothers. Mr. Miley was such a genuine person whom I always admired and respected, a man who taught life long values. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I knew of Ken from my parents at Reeves Brothers (Garvis & Juanita Wheeler) and I knew His mother Lizzie very well. Condolences to Jan and the grandchildren.

I knew Kenneth(Sam) during our days at Lexington High. A great friend. May GOD Bless his Family & Friends. He sure will be missed, by a lot of people.
