Landon Bunker Obituary
Landon grew up in Charlotte attending Elizabeth Elementary, Camden-Carlyle Military School, and Clemson University, Majoring in Engineering. After college he enlisted in the Army Air Corps during WWII, serving as an aircraft machinist and military police in France. Landon returned to Charlotte and married his lifetime sweetheart "D". They were married on February 1, 1947. Landon and Dee moved to Chicago in 1950 where he worked for Chicago Pump/FMC. He was a field engineer, traveling the entire United States and Canada. His family traveled with him extensively with his work. When he retired, he loved volunteering with Loaves and Fishes. He enjoyed time spent at his home at Lake Norman in later years.
Landon is survived by his four children, Margaret King, Barbara Morrison (Rick), Barrett Bunker (Margaret) and Jo Ellen Brown (Dick); nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The service to honor his life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte, with Reverend Michael Cummings officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 am prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
