Lawrence Cecil Stamey
'L.C.'
Mr. Stamey, age 77, of Charlotte, died Monday, December 4, 2006 at his residence. Born November 28, 1929 in Mecklenburg County he was a son of the late William and Maggie Connor Stamey. He was member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, attended Tech High School, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and retired sheet metal mechanic. He loved to sing gospel music and was a former member of the Kensmen Trio and other groups.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, December 7, in the Chapel of Raymer Funeral Home with Rev. William Saylor and Rev. Ray Rippy officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the funeral Home.
Survivors are his daughters, Donna S. Dye and Debbie Stamey of Charlotte, and Beverly S. Leonavicius of Valdese; sister, Faye Poole of Charlotte; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Dodgens Stamey.
Memorials may be made to the donors' choice.

We were so sorry to hear about L.C.(Slick) We will be Praying for the family. He sure will be missed around here. It would brighten up Clarks day when he would call and talk about old times with there singing groups. They would talk for hours..Wish we could go to the funeral but with Clarks health being bad and he doesn't drive anymore we want be able to but our Prayers and Love are with you.Clark and Jean Thompson
