Lee Mullins Obituary

Lee Mullins
November 26, 1941 - September 1, 2023
Bristol, Virginia - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gertrude Lee Mullins, better known as Lee, a beloved soul who departed from this world, September 1, 2023, at the age of 81. Born on November 26, 1941, in Bristol, Tennessee, she was a beacon of warmth and grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonas Loggans and Gladys Frazier Loggans, as well as her sister June Fine, brother Lonas "Buddy" Loggans Jr, daughter Tammy Clark Meade and cherished son-in-law Fred L. Wright.
Throughout her life, Lee embraced virtues that defined her character and left an indelible mark on those who knew her. Her kindness and generosity were boundless, extending to all who crossed her path. She had a profound love for her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose presence brought her immeasurable joy. She took immense pride in being the grandmother of a retired soldier, standing as a testament to her unwavering support and love.
Professionally, she excelled as an accountant and was the proud owner of Lee Mullins & Associates in Charlotte, North Carolina. With unwavering dedication and precision, she navigated the world of numbers, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond her professional endeavors, she found solace in the arts. She had a passion for quilting, gardening and knitting, each a canvas, through which she expressed her creativity and found respite from the demands of daily life. Her love for literature transported her to far-off worlds and fostered a deep appreciation for the written word.
Lee was a woman of quiet strength and resilience, shaped by her experiences as a CODA, child of deaf adults. Her unique perspective, molded by the beauty of silence, instilled in her a profound appreciation for the simplicity and subtleties of life. She possessed a remarkable foresight, predicting the rise of computers and their enormous impact on society, long before they became vital to our daily lives.
Lee made the decision to donate her physical body to Restore Life USA, Elizabethton, TN so she may continue helping others beyond her physical existence. A celebration of her life will be held on September 16, 2023, at 11:30 am, at her daughter's residence located at 23170 Hamlet Lane, Bristol, VA 24202. This casual gathering will offer an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects and share cherished memories of a life well-lived.
In honor of her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, The Bridge Home No Kill Animal Rescue, or local animal shelters. These causes held a special place in her heart, reflecting her compassion and care for others and animals.
Lee is survived by her sister, Joanne Pelarski, her devoted daughter, Teresa A. Mullins (Wright), her adored grandsons, Joshua Clark, Elija Blomquist, and Justin Clark, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Adam Blomquist, Gabriela Clark, and Ireland Clark. She also leaves behind her beloved nephews, Patrick Pelarski and Brendan Pelarski, whose service in the military were a source of pride.
Lee's daughter would like to thank her mother's special angels at NHC Healthcare 3rd floor staff and CARIS Hospice for providing such loving care. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and may her spirit forever guide and inspire us.
