Lela Rose Obituary

Lela Victoria Rose CHARLOTTE - Lela Victoria Rose, formerly Lela Victoria Booth of Charlotte, NC passed away on December 7, 2013, at the age of 84. Lela rose with the sun on July 1, 1929 in Spring Valley, NY. She was the daughter of both the late John Booth and Elsie Gailes of Spring Valley, NY. Lela was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grand mother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and has been a member since 1965. Lela worked as a baby nurse for NY Foundling Hospital in NYC until 1949 when she became a mother and began to raise her family. Lela then returned to work as a Case Manager for the NY State Department of Social Services from 1968-1988 when she then retired. After retirement, she spent time pioneering and creating loving memories with her family and friends. Lela became a widow of the late of Noel E. Rose. They had four children: Theresa, Donald, Mavis and Annette. Lela was a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Lela had eight brothers and five sisters. There will be a viewing at Heritage Funeral Home Indian Trail Chapel from 11am to-1pm on Saturday, December 14, 2013 followed by a memorial at 2pm at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Indian Trail, NC. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations sent to The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, the Indian Trail congregation or the American Diabetes Association. Mom your memorial was beautiful! You would have been so happy to see all of your family and friends from the Kingdom Hall. We spent the day reflecting on your long generous life. Many spoke of your acts of kindness and your loving and generous nature. What a legacy! Now it's up to the family that you left behind to lean on each other and make you proud of us. We love and miss you..till we see your smiling face again rest in peace,,,XOXO
