Lisa Kelly Obituary
Lisa Kelly, of Charlotte, NC, beloved wife, devoted mother, loving daughter and compassionate attorney, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 of a sudden illness at Presbyterian Hospital.
Lisa was born September 3, 1958 in Lexington, NC. She was a proud graduate of Wake Forest University and Wake Forest University Law School. A practicing estate planning attorney for 20 years, Lisa spent most of her legal career at Essex Richards, P.A. Most recently she co-founded the firm Foster Kelly, P.A.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 23 years, Pete; two daughters, Erin and Allison; her parents, Jerry and Audrey Harris Thompson, of Greensboro, NC; brother, Terry Thompson, of Raleigh, NC; and a loving extended family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Providence Baptist Church, with the Reverend Dr. R. Alton Cadenhead officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Harry and Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte. Interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest a donation to Habitat for Humanity/Habitat Charlotte, PO Box 220287, Charlotte, NC 28222, Attn: Donations.

I just learned from a friend about Lisa's unexpected crossing. I am struggling to find the right words to say to you right now. I cannot imagine how you must be feeling--please know my thoughts and prayers will be added to all those who had the priviledge of knowing Lisa. She was a SOPH sister and lived across the hall from me at WFU senior year. I remember her with a smile and genuine affection.

I don't know where I've been but I just heard from Debra Foster about Lisa. I worked with Lisa when I was with NCNB/Nationsbank/BofA in the Trust/Private Banking area. Lisa is someone that I have the deepest respect for and enjoyed working with her over the years. I was so excited about her new venture with Debra and we had planned to catch up here in the next couple of weeks. I will miss her calm and thoughtful disposition. Her loss is deeply felt by many in our profession and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Pete, Erin and Allison;
I worked with Lisa at Mr. Bledsoe's office as a secretary. Even though I was older than her, she taught me not only about law but about life. Her work ethic was beyond reproach and her Christian Spirit was very evident. My prayers are with you and your family.

I was shocked to read last night of Lisa's death. My own family has experienced much sadness and loss recently, so I truly understand that a piece of each of you is now gone. Lisa and I recently met to discuss changes to some legal documents - it was the second time I had met her. She was truly one of the most special, friendly, kind and professional people I have known. I was so saddened to read of her death. My condolences go out to all her family and friends.

There are no words to help or heal the tremendous pain that one receives after the loss of your mom. I do not know the girls or the family at all but I do know how the pain feels. Ive been there. Lisa was like a big sister to me as I interned and then started my law practice with her and Mr. Bledsoe. I regret that we did not correspond as frequently the last few years, but I shall forever remember her quick wit, bright smile, easy laughter, sharp intellect, and love of the Deacons.
