Ludwig F. Tyrian CHARLOTTE - Mr. Tyrian, 93, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015, at CMC-Mercy. Born on May 27, 1921, in New York City, Lou was the son of the late Frank and Rose Tyrian. He grew up on the Lower Eastside, NYC, and was a member of the Boy's Club of NY for his entire life. He served with the US Army Air Corps, 8th Air Force, during World War II as a bomber mechanic. After the war, Lou moved to the Island and settled in the town of Baldwin, NY. He worked at the Eagle Pencil Company in Manhattan, then was a machinist for AIL Eaton working in the plants in Deer Park, Farmingdale and Melville. He retired from AIL in 1985 after 28 years of service. He was best known as the "Music Man" playing as a disc jockey for parties on Long Island and in the city through the late '50s, '60s and '70s. He moved to Charlotte in 2003 with his son Louie to be closer to his son George. Besides his parents, Mr. Tyrian was preceded in death by his wife Mary Bausch Tyrian, who passed in November of 1986. Survivors include his two sons George and Ludwig " Louie" Tyrian, both of Charlotte; nephew Joseph Tyrian, Jr., of CT; and niece Roseanne Lowy, of NY. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, from 6-8 PM at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Rd., Charlotte. Interment will take place in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island. Memorials may be made to the Dickson Heart Unit c/o Carolinas Healthcare Foundation, 1221 E.
