If I could use one word to describe Officer Bell it would be AWESOME! He was one of the best officers I've had the pleasure of working with since I have worked at CMPD. His attitude and demeanor were stellar. He was the exact same every time you saw him nice, calm and friendly. When he told me he was leaving the department I was sad because he was an amazing officer and those are the ones you want protecting the streets. He has gone from labor to reward and I am proud to say that I knew him. My prayers go out to his entire family.

To the surviving Bell family, you have my deepest sympathy for your great loss. Scott was a genuinely all-around great person and one of the best officers I knew. He was an all-around great officer who was always there to help a fellow officer in need of assistance or advice. He was a great mentor for new officers (including me) for how to do the job and do it well. I looked up to him as someone I could always ask advice, even after he left the department. He was quiet, never cocky, always positive and calm. He loved his family and worked hard at his job. It was an honor to have worked alongside him and to have learned from his example. He was missed when he left the department, but he was still always seen as a brother in blue. Now he is missed even more. Rest in peace brother.

Even for a brief moment, God was gracious in allowing us to borrow you from His Divine library. It is only fair, but no less painful, that we, on this plane, keep our end of the bargain and ensure your safe return home. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, I promise that you will never be forgotten, I look forward to seeing you again my brother.

I will always remember Scott as "Mr. Bell", as that's how I addressed him when I worked his background for Police Officer and later during his time in the Academy. Mr. Bell's positive attitude and pleasant, quiet manner led me to believe he would be a good officer and informal leader. I will remember him fondly. My prayers to both Mr. Bell's CMPD family and his personal family. He will be missed greatly.

Scott....It was a pleasure working with you. You were a hard working officer that respected everyone and had the respect of your peers. I am so glad I got the chance to get to know you on a personal level as well. Thanks for backing me up on several calls and traffic stops. I am so glad I got a chance to tell you about your impact on our department before you left the department. Your presence was missed as soon as you left the department, rest peacefully in GOD's arm my brother, Rest in Peace.

Scott was part of my close inner-circle of friends in high school. While our paths took us in different directions, we were able to keep in touch from time to time. As I reflected on the events of the past couple of days, so many good memories have been brought to mind. I consider it an honor and privilege to call him a friend. My thoughts go out to Natalie, his children, Kevin and Jennifer, and the rest of the Bell family. He will be missed.

My Brother. It saddens me to have lost a really good friend like you. I'll always remember our times of laughing, joking, and telling stories of the people we encountered while working. To the family, although I have never met you, I feel like I have through the time I spent with Mike. I can tell you from the conversations with him, you all were very special to him. May God Bless and comfort each of you and all of Mike's friends through this hard time for us all. Rest In Peace my brother, We have it from here........

Scott and I talked about Jesus Christ and how we followed Him to be like Christ to the world. I love my brothers who know the truth and follow God's purpose for our lives. Although this is tragic in our eyes and hearts. Isaiah 57: 1-2 reassures us with, "The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart, devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from calamity; he enters into peace; they rest in their beds who walk in their uprightness. So God's Word gives me peace on my brothers like Scott and I am praying for the Bell family to rest in God's Peace.

Scott was a great person. I, like so many others appreciate his service to keep American streets safe!!!! I haven't seen or spoken to Scott since high school, but as I reflect on the memories, I can never remember a time when he wasn't joking around with someone. My thoughts and prayers are with the family through these days, months and years of heartache. May God wrap his arms around each of you and comfort you!!!!

My old friend Scott and his family,
Scott was an integral part of my close circle of friends through High School. Seldom in our brief life do we share time and space with a unique person like Scott. Scott helped make the world a better place for all and I am thankful to God that I had the opportunity to share part of my life with him. Scott was an influential component of my life that helped me to become the person I am today. I still remember, like it was yesterday, some of our teenage adventures. I wish I had a chance to sit down and chat with him one more time, and I believe we will have the opportunity to do so when we meet again in Heaven. The world is a better place because of the service and time Scott gave to many. May the Bell family find peace you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Great guy. I had the privilege to supervise him sort of as he worked a lot of nights. I was particularly touched when he volunteered to work on Christmas Eve. He went on to explain that he had explained years ago to his children that he worked to escort Santa to town and he kept up with the tradition year after year.

Cathy...as I have thought and prayed for you and your family often these last few days my heart has broken for you and your family. So many songs I have listened to while at work remind me just how strong you are in your faith and the message kept coming back to me that ""I will praise you in this storm"". You are an inspiration to others and even when your family hurts the most you find the strength to look to the goodness of God to allow us to see our loved ones on the other side is a true testimony of your faith. We love you so much and I am so privileged to call you my friend. Love you "Miss Cathy "

Brother Scott. In the too brief time I've known you, it was my honor and pleasure to have guarded the streets of Charlotte with you. You were a true class act! Bell Family, I am devastated about your loss. Please know that Scott was one of the BEST Officers I've ever known, and an even better human. GOD bless you all and thank you for sharing him with us. Rest well Brother.
