Nancy Malcolm Kovacs

Nancy Malcolm Kovacs, originally from Indiana, Pennsylvania took her final bow on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in Charlotte, NC. She was the daughter of the late Jane and Thomas Malcolm, both now surely welcoming her with a celestial toast. Her brother David Malcolm passed away in 2022. She is survived by a constellation of family and friends scattered across the country - and by Howie, her loyal dog and arguably her most honest critic and best cuddle buddy.

Nancy graduated from Indiana High School, where she may or may not have been voted Most Likely to Take Over the World, and went on to the prestigious Katharine Gibbs School in New York - think charm school meets executive efficiency. Her career path was delightfully eclectic: legal assistant at her father's law firm (family law in the truest sense), sales associate at Pitney Bowes, real estate agent (because who doesn't love a good house tour), and finally, in what can only be described as a glamorous plot twist, she became a flight attendant - her dream job, proving it's never too late to work the skies in style.

With a personality that could light up a room - or an entire aircraft cabin - Nancy made friends everywhere she went. Laughter followed her like a loyal fanbase. She had a sixth sense for sniffing out a good time and a seventh for locating the nearest happy hour.

Nancy collected zip codes like some collect souvenirs - Indiana, Los Angeles, New York - and eventually landed in Charlotte in the early '90s when she married Richard Kovacs, who passed away in 2011. Richard was father to Wade and Brantley Kovacs.

For her later and final years, Nancy called The Barclay SouthPark in Charlotte home, where she added sparkle to the lives of residents and staff alike. She made the most of community living - think of it as an adult summer camp with better wine.

Nancy lived boldly, laughed loudly, and never met a cocktail she didn't at least consider. May her memory be a blessing, and her stories live on at many future dinner tables and happy hours.
