Norman Bakker

Norman J. Bakker "Norm" CHARLOTTE - Norman J. "Norm" Bakker, 80, of Charlotte, always loved singing his favorite Hymns and was singing Amazing Grace, as he went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 4th, 2014, at Mecklenburg Healthcare Center. Mr. Bakker was born September 24th, 1933 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Raleigh and Furnia Irwin Bakker. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Bakker Dougan and brother Robert Bakker. Norm's life was his love of God, family and grandchildren. He moved to Charlotte in 1976 to work with his brother, Jim Bakker, at PTL Television, Heritage, USA. Norman loved serving in the capacity as a personal greeter to all the thousands of visiting guests. Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy Fanberg Bakker; sons, Roderick Allen Bakker and Norman Gerard Bakker, both of Charlotte; brother, Reverend Jim Bakker and wife, Lori of Blue Eye, Missouri and sister, Donna Puckett of Branson, Missouri. Also, eleven adored grandchildren and eight precious great-grandchildren. Memorial Services to celebrate Mr. Bakker's life will be held privately by the family at a later date.
