Norman Lee Poole

1933 - 2018

Norman Lee Poole, 85, of Gastonia passed away November 11, 2018 at Peak Resources. He was born June 18, 1933 in Rutherford County, a son of the late Herbert Lee Poole and Velma McKillop Poole. Norman was a true man of God. He worked for the postal service for 32 years and enjoyed photography, music, especially the piano, and his family. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and volunteered at Billy Graham Library. Norman proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War. Survivors of Norman include his daughters, Cynthia K. Poole of Dallas, and Lori Poole Black and husband, Steve of Stanley; son, Rodney Lee Poole and wife, Sherry of Smyrna, SC; grandchildren, Greg Ingram, Jr., Lauren Poole, and Austin Clark; 4 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Leota Shaw. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith Hutchins Poole; and sister, Nelda Pressley. The family will receive friends at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, November 15, 2018 in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors. Committal will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
