Patsy Barrier Obituary
MT. PLEASANT -- Mrs. Barrier, 65, of 8860 Bowman Barrier Road, died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, officiated by Rev. James White. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The Barrier family will receive friends from 6 to 8 .p.m Monday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by her husband, James H. Barrier; sons, Henry 'Matt' Barrier and wife Jill, James 'Dan' Barrier and wife Patricia, and daughter, Wendy Duke and husband Ed, all of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Jack Furr, Levon Furr and wife Terry, Jerry Furr and wife Maxine, all of Concord, Harold Furr and wife Judy of Indian Trail; sister, Lorene Easley and husband Harold of Lake Tillery; grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Rachel and Brett Barrier, Brady and Baby Duke.
Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, PO Box 595, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124.
Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant is assisting the Barrier Family.

Thank you all for the kind words you share. Mom was a very special lady who was full of life and lived everyday to the fullest. Our family, who all lived within a mile of her, lost the anchor of the family. There is not a day that goes by without thinking of her and the joy she brought us all. All her grandchildren are heavily envolved in sports, baseball, football, basketball. I know she would have been proud of all their accomplishments. I miss her so..

I will always remember Patsy not only for her basketball skills, but for her bright smile and friendly manner. I graduated with Patsy and have always considered her a special friend over the years. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to all her family, and I will never forget her. HHS class of 1962

I am so sorry for the loss of Patsy. I just found out about her death. She and I are cousins although I had not seen her since my daddy took me to Harrisburg to watch her play basketball. I wish I had known her better over the years. My prayers go up to you - may God bless you.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Patsy Furr Barrier. I graduated with Patsy. I had not seen Patsy in years and loved getting to see her last year at the reunion. She was still the warm, sweet lady that she had been in school.

I will always remember Patsy as the one who looked like a pro on the basketball court from the first day she played in school. She was a natural. Her smile was contagious. The class reunion where I saw her last, she looked just on top of the world. He quiet confidence was constant. My prayers and thoughts are with her family.
