Paul was indeed one of the few colleagues at UNCC who was always willing to share his thoughts on my comments. In some cases, he guided me through his humor and professionalism. My sincere condolences to the Paul's family. I truly believe GOD will take care of you in HIS place.

Paul and I were classmates 1952, Dallastown HS.Paul was well liked. He was my fullback and opposite number on the basketball team. He held,(and still might hold), the York Co. records in the discus and shotput. At six ft.+ and 185#,all muscle, he was the envy of us jocks. We parted ways, I went to PSU and Paul took his first two years at York JC. When he transferred to PSU for his final two years, that's when I found out that his mind was even more powerful than his body! I have not seen Paul for many years but what I read here comes as no surprise, always the nice guy, fun to be with, a gentleman, but when I think of Paul I will remember the finest athlete DHS ever had, my go to guy when we had to have that first down, that guy that could go up and bring down a rebound in a crowd of giants and a guy that could throw a shot or discus farther than I could carry them! God bless you Paul, there must be a million jobs in heaven you can handle! Jerry Kern

Paul was one of the most unique individuals I've had the pleasure to know and work with. However, I believe I will always remember his sense of humor and professional manner: a getlemean and scholar at all times and in all ways. Bernice and Brad, my depest sympathy to you and the rst of teh family.

Having read the previous ten entries, I have trouble finding anything "new" to say. Paul was indeed the consummate engineering educator and administrator, in which capacity I was privileged to have him as a colleague at UNCC for many years. But it was "Paul the man" that I admired most about him. He was a true gentleman and, as others have noted, he had such a wonderful wit/sense of humor. It was an honor to have him as a friend; I will miss him very much. My condolences to Bernice; thanks for sharing him with us.

To the DeHoff Family,
I offer you my deepest sympathy with Dr. DeHoff's passing. As one of my primary professors while in graduate school at UNC Charlotte, he always challenged us as students. His technical excellence gave us all something to aspire to, and his understated humor and wit were always present--usually with extra morsels for those who were paying the closest attention.

Dear DeHoff Family,
Please accept my condolences. Paul will be sincerely missed. I’ll miss his intelligence, his perspectives, and certainly his special brand of humor. Thank you for sharing him with our department (Mechanical Engineering and Engineering & Science) for so many years. As you know Paul helped shaped who our department is today – and his legacy will continue to live on in all the people (faculty, staff, and students) of UNC Charlotte that he influenced.

"Dr. DeHoff" was my department chair and professor when I was a mechanical engineering student at UNC Charlotte. I will always remember him for challenging and supporting me. His legacy lives on in the thousands of students who graduated under his leadership. I hope that I am giving back in the same way. My heart aches at the passing of Paul ... while I knew it might happen, didn't make it any easier. I so totally enjoyed our friendship while at UNCC ... but even more after retirement playing GOLF with Paul ... he, and his sense of humor ... and his friendship will be sorely missed. He was a true professional ... was always available to mentor his associates and offer his advice. My sincere condolences to Bernice and Brad ... as well as the rest of the DeHoff family.
