Paul Lloyd Obituary
August 10, 1932 - January 14, 2022
Charlotte, North Carolina - Paul Edward Lloyd Sr., 89, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on January 14, 2022. He was born on August 10, 1932 in Johnson City, Tennessee, son of Milton A. Lloyd and Margaret Sanders Lloyd. His education included a BA degree from King College, Bristol, Tennessee, and graduate work at the University of Tennessee. He served in the army from 1953 to 1955 with duty in Korea and Hawaii. His significant work experience included being an auditor with Ernst & Ernst CPA and treasurer for Eastern Federal Corporation. Paul became a CPA while working for Ernst & Ernst. He was an active member of St. John's Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there. His principal hobby was playing tennis and he enjoyed the sport and the friendships that developed over the years. He also enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and participating in the Retired Couples Club.
Paul is survived by his son, Ed Lloyd of Indian Land, SC, daughter, Amy Lloyd Weisbecker and her husband, Paul of Decatur, GA, and daughter, Lori Lloyd Bourne of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren, Allison and Andrew Lloyd, Hannah and Madeline Weisbecker, and Eliza and Sarah Bourne; and a sister, Fran Lloyd of Augusta, GA. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Pat McCroskey Lloyd, and a son-in-law, David Bourne.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. The service will be livestreamed on YouTube, search YouTube for St. John's Baptist Church of Charlotte, then locate service for Paul Edward Lloyd.
Memorials can be made to the Endowment Building Fund at St. John's Baptist Church, 300 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204.
