Peter Conrad Obituary

Peter Conrad
Mr. Conrad, 92, of St. Augustine, FL, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died on June 2, 2011 in Smithfield, RI. Born in Poland, he was a mechanical engineering graduate of Imperial College, London, England, and spent most of his working career on research and development of synthetic fibers with Celanese Corporation in Charlotte, NC where he was Research Manager before retiring in 1983.
At the time of his passing, Peter was survived by Jill, his wife of 59 years, three children, Dr. Michael Conrad of Chapel Hill, NC, Amelia VanGundy and her husband Robert VanGundy of Wise, VA and Jennifer Conrad and her husband Peter Petrocelli of Lincoln, RI, and grandsons Nathan Conrad and Robert VanGundy. He is also survived by his sister Irma Napora and her husband Stan of Poland.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
