Polly Rogers Obituary
A native Charlottean, Polly attended Sharon Elementary, Carmel Middle and Myers Park High. Her enthusiastic spirit and contagious energy served Polly well in her passion for gymnastics and swim team as a child, and for cheerleading at Carmel and Myers Park. Polly was a treasured member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she was an active presence in the youth group, a ringer in the hand bell choir, and a faithful, humble servant in mission work. Polly spent summers at Camp Harrison, sharing her gifts of compassion and leadership with her fellow campers. A sophomore at UNC Charlotte, Polly studied special education and was a sister of Zeta Tau Alpha.
Polly is survived by her loving parents, Tim and Lucy Rogers; her twin brother, Will Rogers; her older brother, Patrick Rogers; her paternal grandparents, Betty Ann Rogers of Raleigh, and Rich Rogers of Florence, S.C.; her maternal grandmother Polly Anderson of Atlanta; a multitude of aunts and uncles; dozens of cousins; and countless friends. Etc.
A service to celebrate Polly's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday May 7th, 2018 at St. John's Episcopal Church 1623 Carmel Rd. Charlotte, NC 28226 with the Rev. Dr. Robert Voyle officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Polly's name to St. John's Episcopal Church.
Our hearts are broken, but we take peace in knowing that Polly's spirit surrounds us, comfort in the memories that we cherish in our hearts, and hope in the promise that we will see our sweet girl again.

Polly was a friend and sister of Zeta Tau Alpha. I am so lucky to have had the chance to get to know her. Polly brightened every room she walked into. She always knew exactly what to say. Polly reached out to me as I was a new member in Zeta going through a hard time. From then on she always made sure to include me and get me more involved. I would not be where I am today without her influence in my life. This upcoming fall I will be living in Polly's old room in the Zeta house and I can only hope to live up to all the memories she made in that room. To Polly's family, you raised an amazing woman who is leaving behind the biggest legacy, and the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha will forever cherish her memory. Thank you for gifting this world with her kind spirit.

I had the amazing pleasure of having Polly in Sunday School for two years when she was in 6th and 7th grade. She was always so sweet and engaging in class. As she went onto high school, she was friendly and cheerful as I saw her at church. I send my deepest condolences as I remember her special spirit and character.

As a Zeta Tau Alpha I have a connection with Polly even though I did not have the pleasure of knowing her on this earth. Her death has made me extremely sad but I hold onto the hope I have in Jesus Christ that I will meet her in heaven. I am so sorry for your family's loss. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to write something. I regret to speak about Polly in the event of her passing, but I just have to say, I (among several other people I'm sure) feel her loss is a profound one. From the bottom of my heart, my memories of Polly comprise only positive emotions and attributes. I saw her as someone who sought to consistently uplift others, make situations more fun and funny, and she was also quite insightful even as a middle-schooler. She left this world far too soon, but her life will not be forgotten. May she rest in eternal and absolute peace.
