Ralph Starnes Obituary

Ralph C. Starnes
BENNETTSVILLE -- Mr. Starnes, 79, died Saturday, June 11, 2005. Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Zeb Vance and Mary Gathings Starnes.
Funeral service will be held at 5 PM Wednesday at Whitner-Evans Funeral Home, with burial in McCall Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Starnes was a retired inspector with J. P. Stevens and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the Woodmen of the World. He was married to the late Sarah Geneva Brigman Starnes.
Surviving is a son, Jerry Starnes (Pat) of Bennettsville; a brother, Carl Starnes of Tatum; a sister, Michelle Faircloth of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Starnes was preceded in death by his sons, James Starnes and Ralph E. Starnes, and a daughter, Jackie Hood.
Memorials may be made to the Marlboro Rescue Squad, PO Box 123, Bennettsville, SC 29512.
Whitner-Evans Funeral Home of Bennettsville is in charge.

I was sorry to hear about the death of Ralph. Even though I did not know him personally, I did know his brother Carl Starnes. Carl lived across the street from our home in Tatum. May the Lord comfort Ralph's family during this time.
