Richard Weiner Obituary

Richard Weiner (1936 2016) CHARLOTTE - Richard Weiner, 79, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 17, 2016. He is survived by his children Wendy Weiner and her partner, Delia Champion; David Weiner and his wife, Shawn Weiner, and grandchildren, Rachel, Aaron and Sara. He was predeceased by his parents, Nathan and Rose Weiner, as well as his brother Jerry Weiner and sister Nita Sokol. Richard was born on July 3, 1936, in New Rochelle, NY, moved to Columbus, Ohio where he graduated from Ohio State University and had lived in Charlotte since 1969. He was also a US Army veteran. An entrepreneur and a life-long adrenaline junkie, Richard had incredible joy for life- whether he was racing cars, flying planes, sailing, biking or even playing a fierce game of pickle ball. Above all, Richard was proud of and dedicated to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. For those who wish to, donations may be made in Richards's memory to The American Cancer Society. Graveside services were held at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
