Robert Ritschel Obituary

Robert Theodore Ritschel, 55, of Charlotte, died Monday, October 14, 2002 at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 18, 2002 at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Born November 17, 1946 in Jersey City, NJ, Mr. Ritschel is a son of Christina Jengo Ritschel and the late Peter Ritschel. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. Mr. Ritschel worked in New York as a fire protection engineer for AIG before moving to Charlotte in 1986. He was a loss control specialist for Key Risk of Charlotte. Mr. Ritschel enjoyed playing the guitar and his computer. He was an avid motorcyclist and a member of the Charlotte Hog Club.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alette Ritschel; mother, Christina J. Ritschel of North Umberland, PA; brother, Paul Ritschel and his wife, Valerie, of North Umberland, PA; and three nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the American Heart Association, 1300 Baxter Street, Suite 109, Charlotte, NC 28204.

Alette, I can't tell you how terribly sorry I am for your loss. It's hard to comfort someone when faced with something like this, but I hope you find some comfort in knowing that your friends, near and far, are praying for you and asking God to help you through this.
