Roderick Williams Obituary
Mr. Williams, 57, of 115 Cotton Wood Park Dr, Charlotte, NC, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Williams worked as a Deputy Sherriff for Mecklenburg County, NC before retiring in 2001.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Grier Funeral Service in the Arthur S. Grier Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at York Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams is survived by his former wife, Gwendolyn Williams of Charlotte, NC; sons, Walter Spratt, Kelvin Spratt and Frederick Spratt (Zina); daughter, Cheryl Clark; mother, Anna W. Rowell; sister, Millicent W. Clark (Aaron); nieces, Melinda Clark of Atlanta, GA and Cecelia Bell of Charlotte, NC; nephew, Emmanuel Clark.
Grier Funeral Service is serving the Williams family.

I worked with Roderick at Animal Control many years ago. He was a true gentleman and will be missed greatly.

The best times I remember were with Roderick and our DDTF unit. We were always there for one another and an extension of our home family. Roderick was a true gentleman and an inspiration and mentor to so many. Those memories will live in my heart forever.
