Mrs. Teague, age 78, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital of complications from Alzheimers Disease and Parkinsons Disease.
Funeral services will be at 4 PM Thursday, October 19, at Lowe Funeral Home at 4715 Margaret Wallace Rd. at Idlewild, with the Revs. Allison Best-Teague and Harry Griffin officiating. The family will receive visitors prior to the funeral service at 3 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery at 8901 Lawyers Rd.
Mrs. Teague was born in south Mecklenburg County on April 20, 1928. She was the youngest of six children born to Clarence William and Ella Utley Griffith. She was raised in the Newell community and worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Newell Post Office. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Charlotte.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde Teague, of Charlotte; a son, David Teague and his wife, Allison Best-Teague, of Waynesville, NC; a son-in-law, Steve Domienik, of Boston, MA; two grandchildren, Adam Teague of Waynesville, NC, and Lynnea Domienik of Northampton, MA; and a brother, Paul Griffith, of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Teague Domienik.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hunter Woods Nursing Center for the loving care shown to Mrs. Teague during the years she spent there.
