Belmont, North Carolina - Ruth Harding Stowe entered the Church Triumphant on September 23, 2022.
Mrs. Stowe was born on October 30, 1925, in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Ruth Link and Robert Henry Harding. She attended Charlotte public schools and Queens College.
On November 15, 1952, she married Robert Lee Stowe, Jr. of Belmont, North Carolina. Mrs. Stowe was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Belmont where she worshiped and taught Sunday School. Mrs. Stowe was a former member of the Town and Country Garden Club.
Mrs. Stowe was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, Matthew Rhyne Stowe, her brother, Robert Henry Harding, Jr. and wife Trixie.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert and wife, Chris, Harding and wife, Pam, and Richmond, grandchildren, Palmer, Harding, Jr., Young, Christine, Lillian, Bennett, and Hannah, great grandson, Stowe, and nieces, Donna Norton, Cherie Ritchie, Grace Harding, and Betsy Garland.
A private service of committal was held at the Stowe mausoleum in Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont with The Reverend Samuel Warner and Mrs. Hope Parks officiating. Mrs. Mary McFarland played the First Presbyterian Church carillon.
The Stowe family would like to thank Sylvania Valencia, the staffs of Home Instead, Gastonia, Covenant Village, Gastonia and Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region for their loving care of Mrs. Stowe.
