I did not know your family , I saw little Samuel's picture in the paper and I saw an angel from heaven looking back at me---I pray God will dry your tears and heal your broken hearts--you will again see Samuel in heaven--The Bible says we will be known in heaven as we are known on earth--that is so comforting to know--God gave me a dream one time on how he took me down a long road and showed me a garden with nothing but babies and children he has with him---Ain't God Good?--we are praying for you, In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost amen

Charlotte, Sammy & Ashlynn:
You are such an awesome family. During your time with us in the PICU, you showed the love and grace of God to all of us. Your faith is true and steadfast. You reminded continually about why I became a nurse and the joys of being a mom.
Sam's time with us was so brief, his candle was bright. Only a few moments with y'all was enough to know how special he was and how special your family is. I have never been so honored and blessed as I have been in my time you.
I pray God's peace and strength for all your family. I will never see a butterfly that I won't think of Sam and you and smile and feel the glow of God's love and Sam's sweet smile.

Your family is never far from my mind. Sam was a blessing to us all even though we never had the pleasure of meeting him. I can't imagine the void you must feel......but God can and will fill that void. We will continue to pray for you. Thank you for sharing Sam.

he give you as much peace as he possibally can. May you always remember that Sam is with you everywhere, every second & in every breath you breath. He will alway continue to show you signs that he loves you & will be waiting on you.
What a wonderful day that will be!
Our children are so blessed to be in heaven with all their loved ones & in the presence of God our Heavenly Father.
If I could tell you one thing it would be that as Sam's parents you will go through many different stages. Turn each stage over to God & let him help you with it. As Mom & Dad don't hold your feelings in.
You must communicate what you are feeling. Remember every feeling you have is normal.
Losing a child is the toughest pain a parent must ever deal with. BUT with God as our counselor we will survive.

I just read your son's obituary and it broke my heart because 2 years ago this month i lost my 4 year old great niece, Jada. Sam's obituary was like telling her story. She too was beautiful, clever, loved by everyone and if you met her you didn't forget her. This is going to be hard for you all but please know that the hurt eases with time. Sam was a beautiful child inside and out and I wish you loving memories of him as I have for my great niece.

my family has been praying for sam for a long time. my son goes to the afterschool program at sharon UMC in hugo and they really made it their mission to pray for all of you daily. jacob prayed for sam to stop hurting and for his family to understand why he was so sick. he prayed every single night. when we heard the news, jacob cried but was so glad that sam isn't hurting anymore. he continues to pray for your family. we are so sorry for your loss!

I am so sorry for the loss of your precious little angel. I followed his treatment through caringbridge after receiving an e-mail for a prayer request. Although it wasn't in the way we had hoped, God answered our prayers and little Sam is no longer in pain and is safe in God's arms. You've have weighed so heavely on my mind over the past
couple of weeks. Since I heard of your son's illness, the warmth I've
felt from everyone "coming together" is overwhelming. I know this is
what God intends for us to do. It is so sad, but yet so compelling to
know that someone so small, a little 4 year boy is what has brought
strangers together in a time of ones need. It's incredible to think
Lil' Sam is the reason for this. At times like this, the correct words
seem so hard for me to find. Even with knowing all his suffering, I
hope that you may find some sort of comfort in knowing the closeness
Sam has brought to the Monroe/Mint Hill Community. What a apecial Boy!
