My deepest sympathy goes out to the Fowler family. Sherry was my very first nurse manager at Carolina's Medical Center. Sherry hired me as a new graduate from UNC-Charlotte to work on 4B OB High-Risk. I respected her highly and thought she was so smart and very organized. I learned alot from her and will never forget where I began my nursing career. I am still employed at CMC it has been over 11 years now. Sherry was a beautiful lady and I will not forget her.
Sincerely,
Amy RN 8DCMC

I knew Sherry years ago in my early teens when we worshipped together at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Hickory. She provided a wonderful example of a true lady. She was a professional with a balance of fun and joy in her spirit. Her glowing personality brightened many of my Sunday lunches. Her beauty was breathtaking as it truly came from within. I was blessed to have known her and I find peace in knowing she was a person who made the most of each day of her life. Here's to Sherry and the spirit of such a lovely woman that will live on in many hearts for generations. Peace to all who love her.

The world is not as bright without our Sherry, but her light burns in all of us whose life she touched. I met Sherry in 1994 when I began working under her in Clinical Pathways at CMC, along with dear Sheila. We were the "Three Muskateers" and remembered that time with extreme fondness and remained close. It was during this time that I realized Sherry was, and still is, "my angel."
She rry was the only person I have met in my life who was all beauty and grace and intelligence and creativity and warmth rolled into one -- as beautiful outside as inside. Her eyes and smile could light any room. She never rested on her laurels, but always sought to grow and expand her knowledge and experience. She SO loved her family and included their lives in friendly conversations, with GREAT pride and caring.
It was too soon. May God comfort all who mourn this tremendous loss.

Sherry & I began our friendship in our senior year in nursing school at UNC-G. From there we both entered the intern program at Moses Cone Hospital, she specializing in ob/gyn and I in med/surg. Later I left hospital nursing for a rehab job, and eventually Sherry did the same. Then Sherry left Greensboro and ultimately ended up in Charlotte where her nursing career went into full bloom as I always knew it could. Sherry was very smart, creative and applied herself to the fullest in everything she did. She was also a compassionate and caring person which not only made her a great nurse, but a wonderful friend. I treasure the memories of the times Sherry and I spent together and thank God for having known her. vjc
