Susan Wilson Obituary

Susan Hughes Wilson CONCORD - Susan Hughes Wilson passed away on Jan. 30, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. That's as it should be because she devoted her 59 years to family and to a life filled with fun and helping others. All who knew Susan know that she touched every person that she met. She was loved by so many. Susan was born August 19, 1955, in Newport News, VA. She and her husband, Keith, were married in 1975, and they moved to Concord in 1987. A simply wonderful life they have lived together as spouses, best friends, parents, and life partners. Together Keith and Susan share three children and four beautiful grandchildren who adored their Noni/Nina. Susan was the glue; she was always organizing, planning and gathering friends and family for the next party or function to celebrate time together. She simply loved life each day. For 28 years, Susan taught school at Beverly Hills Elementary School, and she has always been passionate about making a difference in the lives of children in the Concord community. Susan is survived by her mother and father Charles and Beverly Hughes and brother Charles Hughes Jr. In addition, Susan is also survived by her husband, Keith; three children, Stacy Wilson Beard and her husband, Will, Ashley Wilson, Chad Wilson and his wife, Kellee Wilson; and four grandchildren, Drew and Jack Beard and Lilly and Conner Wilson. She was grateful to have family close by and spent lots of time with all of them. Being with family, at the beach, shopping, coffee at Starbucks, workouts at the Sportscenter, shagging at the beach, or just simply spending time with her husband, Keith, are some of her favorite things. We will continue to celebrate life as she would want us to. Her passion for life and love for family was so evident every day. In honor of Susan. live life, love others, celebrate each day, and keep the party going! Susan was a sweet and caring assistant in both Hanna and Scott's classrooms at Beverly Hills. I appreciate everything that she did to make their learning experience at such a young age so special.

Wilson family,

I was caught off guard and deeply saddened to hear about this over the weekend. May you be comforted by the many wonderful memories you were able to share with Susan (wife, mother, grandmother). I pray that those memories be eternal. Please know that you are loved and cared for by so many people, and those same one's will help to carry you through such a difficult time.
