My brother Charles Harvey and I just learned of Tom's passing. We are cousins on our father's side of the Caldwell family. I wish we had known of his passing and we are sad to know this. It warms my heart to read the many messages about my very funny, knowledgeable and inspiring uncle. As his oldest niece, I find comfort in knowing that he is in a place where there is no pain, no medicine, no illness and joy is ever-lasting. He loved to joke and smile, and now, he has an eternal smile. Gone too soon, yes, but a life very well lived. Thank you Lord for allowing us a little more time with him. We will miss you until we meet again. Forever in our hearts and memories. Keep enjoying yourself Uncle Thomas!

My sympathy to the family of Tom. I just learned of his passing today. We were coworkers at the NJ Department of Labor. He was my mentor when I supervised the OJT Program. I really appreciated his wise counsel and friendship. May he rest in peace.

Sorry to learn of Tom Caldwell's passing,my sincere condolences to his family and friends.I knew Tom from when he was my office manager in Newark ,though I knew of him many years before,I can say he was the best all around manager I had in my long career with the N.J.Dept. of Labor!He was fair,knowledgeable,forceful when needed,principled,helpful,honest,amiable with his workers,capable,and a man who got the job done!He was a real leader!May he R.I.P.!

I met Tom in 1966 at a student government conference and our paths continued to cross until he retired in NJ. He was a man full of jokes but very focused when he was called upon to lend helping hand,offer a cup of kindness or a word of wisdom . While I am sad that he is no longer with us I am thankful that God in his wisdom allowed me to know him.
