Thomas McElwaine Obituary
Michael McElwaine, Sr.
MT. HOLLY -- Mr. McElwaine, Sr., 48, of 145 Arbor Ridge Road, passed away February 22, 2005 at his residence. He was the loving son of George Daniel 'Dan' McElwaine, Sr. and Rita Wilson McElwaine.
He retired from Duke Energy after 23 years, was a graduate of East Gaston High School and attended Belmont Abbey College.
A loving son, brother and father, he is survived by his sons, Thomas Michael McElwaine, Jr. of Stanley, Casey Neil McElwaine of Stanley and Marvin Tyler McElwaine of Mt. Holly; his mother, Rita McElwaine of Mt. Holly; sister, Sonja Johnson and husband Mitchell of Stanley.
He was preceded in death by his father, brother, Danny McElwaine, sister-in-law, Donna Deaton McElwaine, nephew, Daniel McElwaine, III, niece, Elizabeth Ann Rutledge, maternal grandparents, Gurley and Eva Wilson, and paternal grandparents, Grady and Matilda McElwaine.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Tim McCarn at 7 p.m. Thursday at Carothers Funeral Home, Mt. Holly with the visitation to follow, and at other times at 1000 Pierce Avenue, Mt. Holly. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Gaston Memorial Park.
