Charlotte, North Carolina - In Loving Memory of Thomas Allston Moore. Thomas Allston Moore, born on October 10, 1964, in Charlottesville, VA, died peacefully in his sleep on February 1, 2025. He was the loving husband of Jennifer Stone Moore, stepfather of David Oates, Sam Oates (Autumn), and Charlie Oates, and grandfather to Beau (son of Sam and Autumn). He is also survived by his father, Edward Rutledge Moore (Virginia) of Charleston, SC, his mother, Helen Whaley Moore of Highlands, NC, his brother, Edward Rutledge (Ned) Moore, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, his aunt and uncle, Charlotte and Stephen Sponar of Bellevue, WA, and his cousins, Hugh Sponar, Julie Waibel (Craig), Elizabeth Highsmith (Ben), and Ella Steere (Grady).

Allston grew up in Atlanta, GA and attended Trinity School, Westminster School, Christ School in Arden, NC and finally Northside High School from which he graduated. It was there that he fortuitously met Jennifer who many years later became his beloved wife and the love of his life. He graduated from The University of the South (Sewanee) in 1987 with a degree in Art History.

While their hearts are heavy with loss, the family finds comfort in knowing that Allston departed peacefully, leaving behind memories they will cherish forever.

A service in memory and celebration of Allston will be held on Monday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m. at City Church Charlotte, 2300 McClintock Rd., Charlotte, NC 28205.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Allston's name to First Tee, a Charlotte-based organization that provides educational programs for young people, building character and instilling life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Donations can be made at https://firsttee.org.

Allston was someone who impacted my life by being such an honest, raw and real friend! My lost favorite memory of him was the day (years and years ago) he shared with my sister & me he had given his life to Jesus and he was obviously so in love with Him! The joy was apparent! I lost contact with him through the years - but from what I have heard he married a beautiful lady inside & out! So thankful he experienced the beauty of being truly loved my a spouse! A gift! My heart breaks for her, his parents and brother as they walk through this intense pain of living a life without Allston here! Tears for your tears! However, I do celebrate He gets to be with his King Jesus every breath!
