It saddens me to hear the news of coach tent Trent passing. I was looking on the JCSU website yesterday and I was shocked to find out that he has passed on. I graduated from JCSU in 2003 and ran track for JCSU for 3 years. He was truly a positive mentor and coach. He was always given us guidance on how to be a better athlete and also given is guidance in life. He was truly in inspiration to me and the team and he will never be forgotten. Jazz and Trent JR I remember how proud of you he was and how much he loved you please always remember that. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.

A coworker told me about Trent's death recently; I was saddened to hear this news. My family and I first met Trent at the Marion Diehl Recreation Center many years ago. He taught my three children to swim ... I can still remember Trent showing them how to do "windmill arms." All those children in that class enjoyed Trent so much ... he made a personal connection with so many children and students. He was a special person and I will miss him.

I just COULD not believe it when I heard the news of Trenton's death..... I knew Trenton in high school. He was SUCH a cool guy and he grew up to be such a Giving Community Activist. I am Proud to have Known Him. What he did at Revolution and all over the city of Charlotte when he GAVE OF HIMSELF and encouraged young people to :DO SOMETHING POSITVE was a PRICELESS Gift that those he Truly Touched will NEVER FORGET. His activism was Grass Roots and we could ALL "take a page from his play book" and to honor him : GIVE SOMETHING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITIES Today/Everyday-even if it's just: TIME or AN EAR when someone needs to talk. That's what Trenton did. He will Live On in our Hearts and Our Minds Always. Be At Peace Family ! An extra star shines down on us all from Heaven now.....

There's so many things I can say about Trenton. Being a kid growing up in the streets of Charlotte, didn't make alot of sense if you couldn't get guidence. That guidence I found in one man. He was like a father, a friend, most of all a role model. I will miss u so much Trent. You've shown us so many things. So here's my appreciation to you, even when I didn't show you at times.

Being on the girls track team at Harding made it possible for me to get to know Trenton and his siblings. Even though it has been since high school since I saw him last, I still thought of him as a long lost friend. From what I remember he was one of a kind and from reading all the entries, he still is and always will be. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew and loved him. I wish his family hope in the midst of sorrow and comfort in the midst of pain. May God give you all the strength you need to overcome your loss. Hold onto his memories; they keep those we love close to us forever. My deepest sympathies,

Trenton was a very fine man! I was a younger girl but I hung out with my friends and their older sisters, we would be like he is so fine every time we saw him. This was back in the G-man days. He would walk so cocky but still fine. During track meets couldn't wait to see Trenton Guy. God you have been sent a true angel.. God bless the family and you are in my prayers!

To Mr. Trenton Guy's two children and Family: You have my deepest sympathy and your lost will truly have an impact on this world. Your father was such a passionate caring man and an inspiration to all. Trent would give advice or help anyone who asked him for it. He was a realist, but very repectful with his words even when he dissagreed with others. Yes, he was a great rolemodel, coach, and friend to many, but I think his greatest contribution to the world, was that he had two wonderful children......Make your marks on the world and make your father proud!!!! God bless you

I am so proud to say that I know Trent Sr. I was so inspired hearing people talk about what he has done since high school. He has always been a natural leader and very dedicated to what he chose to take on. He did have a way of making everyone feel special and like family. My prayers will continue to go for his family and that the legacy he started with the Racer X will flourish.

May good grant you peace in your time of need. My heart goes out to the Guy Family in your time of sorrow. Trent and I were high school classmates and we both shared a love for track and field. I would see him from time to time and the first thing we would talk about would be track & field. Each time he spoke about it, a light would shine upon his face and you knew that he was born to be a leader and to inspire so many. I was and am so impressed by the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. Know that Gods Angel's have increased by 1 more.

July 18, 2008

I was so saddened yesterday when I learned of Trent's passing. I attended Spaugh and Harding (class of 1986) with him. He was very well known and well liked in school. I ran into him several times at track meets while in college and other times thoughout the years, whenever I saw him he always had a ready smile and hug. I am so touched but not at all surprised to hear how he has impacted the lives of so many. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I pray that you will find comfort in the precious memories that you have and that God will grant you a peace that surpasses all understanding. Rest well Trent, you will be missed.

I remember Trent from the "G-Men" long time ago. And I went to school with his wife Stacey. Two remarkable people. We will truly miss him. He was an inspiration to me and my husband even though our kids did not run track, he taught me that football wasn't just for boys. I played on a woman's flag football team that he helped coached, he touched our hearts in a special way. He was a great mentor to kids who did not have guidance and for his great works he was truly blessed. Our hearts go out to the Guy family. God only takes the BEST.

July 18, 2008

Never once in a million years would I have thought the person who have taught me so much would be gone so fast. I have known Trent for 30years, and I'm 35years old. We grew up together as neighbors, like brothers, but claimed cousins to others. I can remember the strong, arrogant, charismatic, and passionate attitude he had at 9, 10, 11years old and so forth, I always thought he was "grown," because he was a leader then, who knew so much. Trent utilized neighborhood resources, such as Revolution Park Recreation Center "the old one" to mold and strengthen our youth and bond. I was too small to swim in 4ft., so I had to sit in the "baby" pool until the following year. Trent taught me how to swim by teaching me how to hold on to the wall and jumping to grab the other until I eventually began swimming from wall to wall. When I mastered that, I was going off the diving board in 13ft., cautiously, because Trent would be pretending he was talking to someome else and then race over to hit the water after me. I would hear his splash, while I was still under water. It was a gut feeling, like "jaws" was in the water. I would surface to the top, only to get snacthed back down, in a wrestle for life. I joined him on the "swim team," which I still have ribbons, medals and trophies from mastering the four strokes of swimming; the butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle in competitions against other teams. Til this very day, I still swim like a "fish." Trent kept exciting things going. He would scout "Charlotte," on foot, which seemed at the time, because we would walk for hours only to arrive at someone's house or a junk yard with a loose dog that would chase us down the entire road after teasing and edging it on, for his amusement. I hated it, because I was too small and slow to keep up. Then, we would arrive at his house, I hated that too, LOL, because a three legged dog lived in back of him, that kept "giving us the business!" He taught me how to fight, to love martial arts, karate movies, which I collect, still today and will get mad when my friends joke about the dialog, "they don't understand!" Trent learned to cook and omlet by putting any and everything in it. Let me see the word omlet anywhere and my stomach "turns!" LOL! I can go on, and on, and on, because "I'm family, he is my brother, my heart, and I will continue to cherish all the memories we had with the memory as if they occured "Yesterday!"

I am sorry to hear about your lost, Trent was a great person he made a major difference in other people life as well as his own, sometime things happen beyond our control. I am so glad Trent was not selfish with his love and glad to see the young men and women lives he touch and made such a big different in there life giving all the love he could give regardless of his own circumstance. He is in a better place no more pain, but he will not be forgotten. To see picture and more memory you can also put in his name and search the web site to see all the happy time he has shared with other. I had not seen him in many years, when I was younger I always new he would make a different in some one life. he was always caring and giving. Guy family you have a lot to be proud of, God allowed your father ,son, brother, uncle ,cousin, friend to make a big different in the world by sharing what was instilled in him, may God continue to Bless your family.

Coming up back in the day, I often pushed myself to train a little harder, workout a little longer and sacrifice a little more because of the example that Trent set for all of us. Now, as a father and husband, the lessons of hard work and sacrifice still guide me daily. Thanks for sharing your gifts with us Trent. Willie, Vincent and the rest of the Guy family, keep the faith. My family and I wish you all peace and many blessings. I'll be in touch.

Linda Poole (Thomas)

July 17, 2008

Tessima,Bink, and G, where do I begin. I feel your pain as I too have lost my brother (Tim Poole) I remember the revolution days. All I can say is as time goes on you will be able to cope with the void that is now missing in your life. God said he would never leave us alone, so even though my brother and your brother are in a better place, Jesus will wrap his arms around you and be your brother. I laid a brick at frazier park in honor of my brother and sometimes I just go there to find some peace. Today was hard for me as we all go way back, and I feel your pain. Trent you will be missed, but never forgotten. Hey Trent when you reach that city way up in the sky, say hi to my brother for me and tell him I love him, and I will see you both again someday. RIP

Trent was my swim intructor at Marion Diehl when I was a kid...he was always so encouraging. He always remembered you even when you saw him years later. I will never forget him and I know that his legacy will forever live through all of the young people he inspired. Especially Lil Trent, his daughter, and nephew. RIP TRENT!!! "We love you, but GOD loved you more."

My prayers go out to the family. I haven't seen him in along time but we still were close over the years. When we young men we dance, play football and just laugh about crazy times. God bless
