Tyler Hoffman Young CHARLOTTE - Tyler Hoffman Young, 29, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Matthews United Methodist Church, 801 South Trade Street, Matthews, NC. Visitation will be in the Sanctuary Reception area one hour prior to the service. Tyler was born on April 29, 1983 in Charlotte, NC. He attended Myers Park High School and was an avid soccer player with Myers Park Soccer League. Tyler loved the outdoors, fishing, four-wheeling, sporting clays, skiing, racing Sea-doos on the Ogeechee River in Savannah, and his loyal dog, Dozer. He is the son of Russell Edward Young and Wanda Hoffman Young. He is survived by his paternal grandmother, Mary Etta Young, of Ararat, Virginia; his aunt, Peggy Foley Iroler, of Ararat, Virginia, his aunt, Wanda Young Jackson, of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina; and his uncle, Robert Foley, of Cana, Virginia. He is survived by his maternal aunt, Tammy Brendel, of Mooresville, NC, and numerous other nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his beloved and precious maternal grandmother, Verdie Miles, of Jefferson, South Carolina. The family requests memorials be made to SOAR, a non-profit serving individuals and families dealing with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders.
