Virginia Massey Kiser MATTHEWS - Mrs. Virginia Massey Kiser, 85, of Matthews died peacefully at home Sunday, August 12, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Marty Smith, of the home; son, Carl Kiser and daughter-in-law, Becky, of Stallings; grandchildren, Samuel (Noelle), Jonathan (Melissa), and Benjamin Kiser; grandchildren, Rachel (New York), Abigail (Vermont), and Jared (Texas) Smith; great-grand-daughters Aaliyah and Reagan Kiser; great-grandsons Ethan, Kaden, and Jonathan David Kiser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Eugene Kiser; grandson, Stephen Phillip Smith; sisters, Marjorie Gordon and Betty Clark; and brothers, Banks, Earnest, Charles, and Robert Massey. Virginia graduated from Sharon High School, Charlotte, NC. She raised her children and worked side by side with her husband in their gasoline station franchise. She cared for her father in his home in his last years, for her mother-in-law during her final years, and her husband during his battle with cancer. She will be missed as a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, and great- grandmother. The family will receive visitors at J.B.Tallent Funeral Service at 1937 Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, NC on Wednesday evening, August 15, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The funeral service will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday morning, August 16, at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Mr. John Mauldin and Rev. Dean Turbe-ville will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Virginia's name to Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region.
