William Howell Obituary
June 14, 1968 - July 12, 2021
Fort Mill, South Carolina - Mr. William Tindall Howell, Jr., age 53, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, at Atrium Health Care Main in Charlotte after a valiant fight with Multiple Myeloma and MDS.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Unity Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Matthew Rich officiating. Visitation will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
Born in Walterboro, S.C., Billy was a son of William Tindall Howell, Sr. and Gail Dooley Howell. He was a 1990 graduate of Clemson University where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega and recently served as a member of the Humanities Advancement Board. After graduating from Clemson, Billy worked for Bank of America for over 30 years where he most recently served as ATM/Financial Center Production, Delivery, and Service Executive. Billy loved the Lord and was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder, Sunday School teacher and Stewardship committee member. Billy was a loving husband, father, son, and brother and was a true friend to many in both his personal and professional lives. All who knew him will miss his endearing personality and sense of humor. Billy enjoyed golfing, boating, and all things Clemson. Above all, Billy loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Billy is survived by his wife of 28 years, Emelia Gauthier Howell; his children, William Tindall Howell III (Banks) of Greenville and Grace Blanton Howell of the home; and his siblings, Lesli Howell Pryor (Greg) of Walterboro and John Asher Howell (Lori) of Beaufort. Billy also leaves behind many loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church-Imagine the Possibilities Fund, P.O. Box 1267, Fort Mill, SC 29716 and Clemson University Foundation -William T. Howell '64 Pre-Law Society, P.O. Box 1889, Clemson, SC 29633.

So sorry to hear about Bill. He was a great guy and we worked together for many years at Bank of America. I always loved calling him Hank Hill from King of the Hill (he probably didn't like it so much but always laughed). Great sense of humor for sure! God bless you all.

There are just no words to express how crushed and heartbroken we are to hear about Billy. He was a gem who could light up a room by just being there.
